VIDEO: FIFA HAILS ‘SOARING SUPER EAGLES’

The performances of Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the previous World Cup finals has been highlighted by FIFA in its website. It is part of focus on teams expected to scale the heights when the 2018 edition of the World Cup opens in Russia this summer.

It is Nigeria’s sixth appearance at the global most glamorous single even show.  The video opens with the exploits of Emmanuel Amuneke who along with Daniel Amokachi were scorers of two goals at the USA ’94 where the Super Eagles made a debut.

The video clip went on to highlight some exquisite moves by mesmerizing Super Eagles’ players especially Austin Jay Jay Okocha and the blistering shot that Sunday Oliseh took to give Nigeria the winner in the never-to-be forgotten 3-2 defeat of hitherto France’ 98 favourites, Spain.

Among the current set, the goals by Ahmed Musa against Argentina four years ago was highlighted. Musa became the first Nigerian to score two goals in a World Cup match.
