BRAZIL FOOTBALL BOSS BANNED
The president of the Brazilian FA, (CBF), Marco Polo Del Nero has been slammed with a provisional 90 day ban which could still be extended by another 45 days.
In a media release this Friday, FIFA reports that the chairperson of its adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee imposed the ban. The ban comes into immediate effect.
During this time, Polo Del Nero is banned from all football activities at both national and international level.
The decision was taken upon the request from the chairperson of the investigatory chamber of the Ethics Committee carrying out the formal investigation proceedings into Polo Del Nero, pursuant to art. 83 par. 1 and art. 84 par. 2 of the FIFA Code of Ethics
Sports Village Square gathered that the 76-year-old has remained as head of the sport’s governing body in Brazil despite being charged by American authorities in 2015 over money laundering allegations.
He quit FIFA’s executive committee that year, but has not been extradited from Brazil to the US to face charges.
