Super Eagles’ defender, Leon Balogun has urged Nigerians to vote massively for teammate, Victor Moses who is seeking continental honours from two fronts.
Moses was last month named among the 30 shortlists for the CAF African Footballer of the year alongside William Troost-Ekong.
At the weekend, Moses has also been named in the final five shortlist for the BBC African Footballer of the Year.
Balogun, who was the stand-in captain of Nigeria in the last World Cup qualifier with Algeria twitted that his fellow citizens should vote for Moses who also played pivotal role in making Chelsea emerged as the 2016/17 English Premiership winners as well as getting to the final to The FA Cup.
Balogun’s tweet reads: “Nigeria, it’s time to vote. This award can only go to our brother & outstanding footballer @VictorMoses – no excuses! Make sure he gets what he deserves – African Footballer of the Year 2017 must be our very own”.
