Rangers Vowed To Win For Late Finidi George Brother

Playing a crucial league match on the 22nd anniversary of the killing of one of their players, Igeniwari George, has added an impetus to Enugu Rangers rounding up their 2016/2017 league fixtures on a high note.

The defending champions who have lost their titles this season will be facing emerging champions, Plateau United in Jos.

Enugu Rangers play maker, Christian Madu told Sports Village Square that Rangers’ players are aiming for victory which will be dedicated to the memory of Igeniwari George who was killed in a crowd violence on this day 22 years ago in Ibadan.

The killed player was a younger brother to Finidi George and was also a member of the Golden Eaglets team to Ecuador 1995. He died of gunshot wound after a Challenge Cup match with Stationery Stores at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
