Improving Your Baseball Fantasy Lineup

Published

on

As the American baseball season approaches it’s midpoint, fantasy owners are settling in to the fantasy season.  There are a number of reasonable options on the waiver wire for those trying to improve their roster.  Some require risk, others require patience.  Here is a look at a view of the players to consider if you are trying to boost your roster.

Ben Gamel

Ben Gamel was recently called up from triple A and has been on fire.  His presence and performance has made it much easier for the Mariners to deal with the injury of MitchHaniger.  Gamel is batting near 400 with more than 11 RBI’s since being put into the lineup.  His ability to consistently get multiple hit games also makes him very attractive.   Currently Gamel is owned in about fifteen percent of leagues.  This is a great time to grab him.

Ryan Schimpf

Ryan Schimpf has demonstrated an incredible ability to hit extra base hits with 9 of his 17 hits being home runs.  This extra base hit ability makes him an attractive player to add to a roster.  Currently Schimpf is available in about twenty-five percent of CBS leagues, so the time is now if you are going to pick him up.

Jed Lowrie

Jed Lowrie has quickly surpassed his numbers from last season.  His has hit several home runs and dramatically improved his walk rate.  If Lowrie remains healthy he has the ability to hit 10-15 home runs, if not more.  Currently Lowrie is owned in about fifteen percent of leagues.  He is ideal to add to a roster if he is available in your league.

Kennys Vargas

Vargas was incredible in triple A.  Vargas has demonstrated excellent power throughout his career and is slowly improving his walk percentage.  Currently Vargas is owned in only nine percent of leagues, Vargas is a must add if he is available in your league.  He has the potential to hit between 25-30 homeruns.
