Sports Federations’ Inauguration Shifted Again

For the second time, the inauguration of the 31 boards of the sports federations has been postponed.
The inauguration was originally slated for the same day of elections, but was shifted by a month to allow petitions arising from the June 13 elections to be heard and also give room for possible bye elections.
But last week, the Nigerian Ministry of Sports announced that the date had been moved forward by three days to enable the various federation boards to hit the ground running as some had international competitions to attend to.
But on Sunday evening, the footnote of a media release from the office of the sports minister announced that the “inauguration of all Federations will now hold on July 20, 2017 to allow enough time for the bye elections”.
