After watching Cameroon at the Confederations Cup, I reaffirm my belief that it (the Cameroonian Indomitable Lions as a team) is not a mountain too high for the Super Eagles to climb. Man-to-man, player-for-player, they are not more gifted than the Super Eagles.
The Super Eagles may have faltered against South Africa, but we shouldn’t press the panic buttons yet. The team didn’t suddenly become bad. Something went wrong the last time…The shortcomings have been pointed out and it left for the technical crew to do the needful.
Good that it happened now…A particular ingredient (experience) was deficient against South Africa. We might have been deluded earlier (though some of us have always harped on the need to infuse more experience into the team) but the match was a wake-up call.
Perhaps, Rohr would have made that same mistake against Cameroon but now, he knows better. Before now, he obviously, overrated his kids. So I see the loss to South Africa as bad news for Cameroon.
They will face a much different Super Eagles than the ‘Flying Eagles’ Gernot Rohr paraded against South Arica. Hahahaha…The Super Eagles that will daze Cameroon like Germany and they will pray for more of Fabrice Ondoa’s heroics…
The Cameroonian team is not better than the Algerians that the Super Eagles beat in Uyo. With the infusion of a few experienced players, the Super Eagles will fly past these Lions…They are not indomitable.
FACT: It wouldn’t have been beyond the Super Eagles to get more than a point from Cameroon’s Confederations Cup group.
