Remo Stars Hunting for Point in Warriors’ Fortress
BY OLADIMEJI OSHODE.
Visiting Remo Stars will be hoping to replicate the form that saw the gradually rising side beating Nasarawa United as they encounter El-Kanemi Warriors in their fortress on Sunday.
The El-Kanemi Sports Complex, Maiduguri is the venue for this Match Day 25 fixture.
Last weekend, it was Dufegha Eric’s lone strike that saw the Sky Blue Stars defeat the ‘Solid Miners’ 1-0 at the Gateway Stadium, Sagamu,
But the Fatai Osho’s men are hopeful of getting point on the road in what promises a titanic battle at the far north east of Nigeria.
It is not a new venture for the Bet 9naija sponsored side as it had picked points on the road against Champions Enugu Rangers, Shooting Stars, Abia Warriors and getting another point on the road against the Desert Warriors is hopeful.
El-Kanemi Warriors fell 3-0 to Katsina United in Match Day 24 of the NPFL after a disappointing 1-1 draw at home against Enugu Rangers.
Meanwhile, the Desert Warriors have been unbeaten in all home games this season and they will ensure they continue the record against the visitors, Remo Stars FC.
In the reverse fixture, the Sky Blue Stars defeated the Desert Warriors 2-0 courtesy of a goal from Onuoha Chukwujekwu and a stunning free kick from Ochowechi Salefu.
Speaking with RSFC Media, Winner of Match Day 22 VAT Wonder Goal Award, Ochowechi Salefu feels it’s going to be a difficult game but he and his teammates may be nervous going into the encounter.
“The game against El-Kanemi Warriors is going to be a difficult game but myself and my teammates will approach the game with all seriousness and play as if it’s the last game of the season.”
“I am quite optimistic that Remo Stars Football Club will remain in the NPFL with our recent performance,” Ochowechi affirmed.
