Remo Stars Survive Warriors’ Encounter

A wonderful display from Remo Stars Football Club saw the visitors salvaging a point at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
The Sky Blue Stars fashioned out a goalless draw against the ‘Ochendo Warriors’ in the last game of Match Day 23 in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Technical Adviser, Fatai Osho made four changes to the starting line-up that defeated Gombe United in Match Day 22 of the League at the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu.
Abia Warriors and Remo Stars approached the game with all seriousness as it took both sides five minutes to settle brilliantly into the game.
The home side had the first attempt but Oknuoghae Osas brilliantly stopped Sunday Adetunji’s chance that could have given the Ochendo Warriors the lead.
Dufegha Eric made a run for the Sky Blue Stars to locate Ochowechi Salefu but his attempt went over the bar and Ekene Awazie grabbed a pass but Agbor Ekoi saved for the home side.
The Sky Blue Stars had the larger percent of play with Ochowechi Salefu, Benjamin Felix and Awazie Ekene wonderful display that could have gone the visitors’ way.
Before the half the break, the home side had a chance through Anthony Okemmiri to locate Uche Inuarulam but he anxiously played it wide.
The second half started with Dufegha Eric having a brilliant attempt after getting pass Ogbonnaya Okemmiri but Agbor Ekoi saves before Ochowechi Salefu got close for a rebound.
Chidume Victor was also spectacular for the Sky Blue Stars with wonderful passes to locate Ochowechi Salefu and Ekene Awazie but Ozor Chinedu defended swiftly to deny the visitors.
Much pressure came in for the Sky Blue Stars in the closing minutes of the game where Ndukwe Chizoba was forced to make numerous saves from Sunday Adetunji, Obi Samson, Uche Ihuarulam and Yakub Muhammed.
Both teams tried their best possible to get at least a goal in the closing minutes of the game but the defenders reacted brilliantly to different attempts and the Sky Blue Stars forced the game to a goalless draw.
An elated Technical Adviser of Remo Stars, Fatai Osho said that the draw against Abia Warriors in Umuahia would propel the team to continue to work harder.
“It’s excellent for his team to get a point in Umuahia and it will also propel the team to continue to work harder.”
“We lost couple of away games because the results didn’t come our way but today we have got something reasonable to motivate us better.”
“We have to give it to the referees too because the officiating was fair, if we can continue to have this type of officiating then we won’t be talking of losing four subsequent away matches.”
“As regards the players, we don’t want to isolate an individual but we have to give it to the players because they worked collectively to get the draw.” Osho opined.

Ikenne’s Beyond Limit Football Academy top goal chart as NNL releases vital statistics
The secretariat of the Nigeria National League has released the match statistics of the four conferences of the 2024 season.
With 198 matches so far played in Conferences A and B, 426 goals were scored, with 125 home wins and 26 away wins, representing 63.1%, & 26% respectively. There were 47 draw matches, representing 23.7% of matches. 299 home goals were scored, and 127 home goals.
Beyond Limit FC scored the highest goals of 33 goals, with Stormers FC and Ekiti United conceeding the least goals of 28 goals. Tradesafe and Solution FC scored the least numbers of goals of 11 goals and Osun conceded the least numbers of goals of 8.
In group C & D, 209 goals have been scored in the 106 so far played, with 70 home wins and 14 won away representing 66. 3% and 13.1% respectively.
Teams drew 31 matches representing 29.2% of the matches played. Wikki Tourists scored the highest numbers of goals, with 23 goals, while EFCC FC conceded the least numbers of goals. They conceded 18 goals. Nasarawa United’s 8 goals conceded made them the team that conceded the lowest numbers of goals, while ABS scored the least number of goals of 5 goals.

Heartland back to their homeland as they host Shooting Stars

The uncertainty surrounding our Matchday 31 encounter against Heartland FC of Owerri, has been cleared with the game eventually slated to hold at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, the home ground of the host team
The Nigeria Premier League has given the approval to the stadium after an inspection was carried out on Wednesday afternoon.
The Oluyole Warriors have since arrived the Imo State capital and have settled down ahead of Friday’s clash which will be be shown live on cable television.
Meanwhile, the Technical Adviser of the Ibadan soccer lords, Gbenga Ogunbote, while addressing the players on arrival at their hotel, urged them not to be distracted by the development.
“I want to apologise to you on the change of venue. We got to know about it some hours ago, but be that as it may, I want us to remain focused as and get the desired results we needed”.
In the same vein, the players of the Ibadan soccer lords, said they are not in any way moved by the change of venue, expressing their readiness to get the maximum points, not minding the venue.
