The South African team, Bafana Bafana, expected in Lagos Wednesday evening, will pass the night in the city.
Director of Communications of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ademola Olajire told Sports Village Square that the squad will be arriving aboard their national airline, South Africa Airways at a time all fights to Uyo would have departed.
He said that the team is expected to fly to Uyo Thursday morning for the Africa Cup of Nations match scheduled to hold on Saturday.
Meanwhile, all the initially invited 21 players to the Bafana Bafana team left for the Johannesburg after initial fears that some of the injured seven players may be replaced.
The two critical ones, Tokelo Rantie and Rivaldo Coetzee who did not train with the team on Tuesday morning were able to take part in the evening session, even though, they were restricted to light workout.
The only major concern is the France-based Kermit Erasmus who was down with a stomach bug and a possible hamstring strain.
He is however still included in the squad arriving Nigeria.
