South Africa’s Coach Faces Injury Woes

South Africa’s Coach Stuart Baxter is having more headaches than relief as he prepares his team for a match that may determine his future handling of Bafana Bafana.

Reports that Sports Village Square gathered from South Africa indicate that he is faced with injury problems, three days into the camping exercise that began on Saturday.

The team is expected to leave for Nigeria on Wednesday. Sources in South Africa informed Village Sports Square that Bafana Bafana’s team doctor, Thulani Ngwenya told the coach on Monday that seven players arrived camp on Sunday with varying degrees of injuries that is given the coach sleepless night.

The injured players are: Lebogang Manyama with right knee injury, Andile Jali has right groin injury and Tiyani Mabunda who has ankle sprain.  Also among the injured is Tokelo Rantie, the scorer of the two goals that prevented Nigeria from qualifying for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

He is reported to be down with right toe bone contusion and right knee injury.  The casualty list also include Aubrey Ngoma who has groin injury, Rivaldo Coetzee is down with hamstring injury and Eric Mathoho (concussion). All of them are in the sick bay.
