Ronaldo’s Real Madrid may be the first club in the UEFA Champions League to reach a milestone of 500 goals in the competition. According to information Sports Village Square gathered from UEFA, Real needs just a goal to hit the mark.
It will amount to double mark, should that goal come from Ronaldo who will then be able to match the 11 that his arch rival, Lionel Messi, has scored in this season’s competition to be the lead scorer.
The next ranked club in terms of cumulative goals in the UEFA Champions League is FC Barcelona which has 459. The third is Bayern Munich which has 415 goals. Juventus, this year’s finalists are sixth with 263 goals.
Madrid’s goals have come against 57 different clubs. Analysis of the 499 goals that Real Madrid had scored so far indicates that Germany’s Bayern Munich have been the most generous goal-donor to Real Madrid. They conceded a whooping 30 goals.
The Germans are jointly followed by Ajax Amsterdam and Turkey’s Galatasaray which conceded 20 goals each to Real Madrid.
