BY BOLAJI OKUNOLA.
Leicester City midfielder, Winfred Ndidi, has promised soccer enthusiasts in the Nigeria to watch out for more excellent performances of the Super Eagles in more games to come.
Ndidi who tasted action in Super Eagles 3-0 victory against Togo on Thursday in Paris vowed gear his teammates up towards recording more victories, especially in the next very crucial qualifying matches.
In a social media chat with Sports Village Square, Ndidi called for great support as the Super Eagles host South Africa next weekend. He remarked that under Gernot Rohr, the Super Eagles are gradually soaring high.
“We are happy for the victory against Togo. The team spirit is high and more players are willing to showcase their talents for the development of the team.
“Our fans were not happy with us in the 1-1 with a regional side like Corsica, but are now happy we are back on track.
“I am using this medium to promise the fans more victory. The win against Togo is just a sign of a new beginning. Although soccer fans believed Togo were minnows. But I don’t think they are.
“They gave us a good run for our money. It wasn’t easy to beat an African side that play more of physical football. The victory is a tip of iceberg and I am very sure of victory in our forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifying matches” said Ndidi.
The 20 year old player was named as Leicester City Youngest Footballer of the Year.
