Super Eagles Beat Togo 3-0

Three first half goals against Togo were all that the Super Eagles needed to continue their unbeaten run since losing 0-1 to Egypt last year March in one of the qualifying games for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

The unbeaten streak against other countries has now been extended to seven matches. In their first encounter with Togo in 26 years, the Super Eagles went into business early in the match scoring in the third minute through Ahmed Musa who capitalised on a shot from Alex Iwobi that was spilled into his path by Togolese Goalkeeper.

The ovation that greeted the goal had hardly died when in the 17th minute; Ahmed Musa again got an assist from Iwobi to make it 2-0 for Nigeria.  Ten minutes later, Kelechi Iheanacho made it 3-0 for Nigeria after he tapped in from Oghenekaro Etebo.

The second half was literarily a practice match as Gernot Rohr began substitutions to give virtually everyone in the team a feel of the match.

He began with the pulling out brace achiever, Ahmed Musa, and Abdullahi Shehu for Victor Osimhen and   Tyronne Ebuehi.  Barely 15 minutes later, Oghenekaro Etebo and Wilfred Ndidi gave way for Uche Henry Agbo and Henry Onyekuru.
