Super Eagles’ Call Up Is Dream Come True – Osimhen
BY BOLAJI OKUNOLA
F.C Wolfsburg of Germany whiz kid, Victor Osimhen, anxiously awaits his first full international cap under Gernot Rohr. The sleek striker who topped goal chart at the 2015 U-17 World Cup in Chile is listed in the provisional 25-man squad slated for camping later this month in the mountainous French island of Corsica.
In a face book chat with Sports Village Square, the prodigy thanked the coach for finding him worthy to be considered in the Super Eagles.
“I can’t just imagine myself representing Nigeria at this stage. I am still a young boy who is still willing to learn. I know days like this will surely come. I never knew I will make the list now.
“I don’t know what Rohr sees in me, but I promise not to disappoint him. I am still battling for a first team shirt in Wolfsburg which I see as a hindrance in the first place. But I am glad our national coach noticed me in the little village I am here in Wolfsburg.
“I will be glad to play alongside the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi and a host of others which I think can add more to my experience. Once again I am thanking Rohr for making my dream come true,” he remarked.
Osimhen’s club, F.C Wolfsburg, is currently preparing hard to escape from the relegation in the Bundesliga.
