Ikpeba 20 Year Monaco Goal Record Set To Be Broken
BY BOLAJI OKUNOLA
AS Monaco red-hot striker, Kylian Mbappe is adamant he can break former Africa footballer of the year, Victor Ikpeba UEFA goal record in a single season should he add more goals to his tally in the ongoing 2016/2017 UEFA Champion League season.
The French youngster who is currently on five goals will be getting ready to erase Ikpeba’s seven goal record which he made during the 1996/97 UEFA competition.
Mbappe in a chat with French T.V monitored by www.sportvillage square.com, made it known that he is keen on breaking more records after denting Thiery Henry liege 1 goal record during his youthful days at Monaco and his hoping to beat the former Nigeria international record.
In his words: “I cherish records a lot. I care about scoring more goals so as to break the existing ones. I never knew we can reach this stage but I see myself breaking Victor Ikpeba’s record which he made 20 years ago.
“I can score three more goals before we were shown exit door or win the UEFA Champions League” the 18 year old assured.
