In yet another expression of condolence to the families of the football fans who were electrocuted following a snapping of a hire tension electric cable that fell on a makeshift viewing centre in Calabar South Eastern Nigeria, players of Premiership side, Manchester will on Sunday wear black armbands when the club face Swansea City in an English Premiership match.
The club in its twitter handle informed that the action is in memory of the seven fans that lost their lives.
The tragedy occurred in a telecast of the Manchester United quarter final duel with Belgium’s Anderletch in the UEFA Champions League a few days ago.
It is believed that the fans were Manchester United followers.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are on the brink of club record undefeated run. The club’s unbeaten run got to 24 games following the goalless draw with city rival’s Manchester City on Thursday evening.
Manchester United will set a new club record for their longest unbeaten run within a single top-flight season, should they avoid defeat against Swansea. This will match their best-ever single-season spell from 2010/11.
