Italian midfielder Claudio Marchisio may join Chelsea this summer. Chelsea’s Italian manager, Antonio Conte, is believed working on the Juventus star to reunite with him at the Stamford Bridge.
Marchisio who has been the heart of Juventus for several years has previously played under Conte.
However, Juve are reportedly not interested in selling the 31-year-old for anything less than £25m.
In fact, British tabloid, The Sun claims that Chelsea have already seen an opening bid of £17m knocked back by the Italian champions.
While Marchisio has been mainly used off the bench this season, it could be an option to help pack out the middle of the park for the Blues.
N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic have been the preferred choice for Conte this season, with Cesc Fabregas also being used in rotation.
But with the extra demands of Champions League football beckoning, Chelsea will have to add more players and the central midfield role will be key to that.
