Nigeria: Coach Adams Usman Quits Mighty Jets
BY ADAMS JESSE
Adams Usman, the technical adviser who was last November signed on by the
Nigeria Nationwide League (NNL) side, Mighty Jets, has resigned his position sighting that the condition he was working was not healthy.
He added that the fans of the club were also threatening his life.
“Ever since I took over at Mighty Jets, I have gone 22 games unbeaten (including preseason games)”, he remarked.
“Mighty Jets have played a total of five games in this season’s NNL, winning two and drawing the remaining three games.
“The straw that broke the camel’s back was our last home game against Jigawa Golden Stars, a game we were trailing before equalising and during the half time period, the fans came into our dressing and I was beaten black and blue.
“It took the intervention of some notable personalities to persuade me to continue the game which ended in a two all draw”.
The former handler of Nasarawa United, Keffi United, Katsina United, Ranchers Bees and Al Iran of Sudan said he was disappointed in the club management led by Alex Noel Wukadi.
“With all the beaten I received from the fans none of the management board member checked to know how I was fairing even while I was in the hospital receiving treatment.
“It is very sad even the welfare package is very poor.” The former Sunshine Stars of Akure assistant coach under Coach Gbenga Ogunbote says he has nothing against Mighty Jets of Jos and wishes the team the very best in their quest to return back to the elite league (NPFL).
On his future, the coach said: “I am very free and open to offers both within and outside the country”.
