FIFA Mourns Dead Calabar Fans
World football governing body, FIFA, has joined others in mourning the football fans that died in Calabar, South Eastern Nigeria on Thursday night when a high tension electrical cable fell on the building housing the view centre where they were watching a Europa League match.
The condolence message is coming on the heels of earlier ones by Manchester United, the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Nigeria Football Federation.
FIFA’s message is contained in the twit released from the body’s official handle. It reads: “FIFA is deeply saddened by the deaths of several football fans in Calabar & offer our deepest condolences to family & friends of the victims.”
