In a rare show of sportsmanship, Borussia Dortmund fans on Tuesday night accommodated supporters of the visiting Monaco who were stranded following the shift in the scheduled UEFA Champions League quarter finals first leg match which could not hold owing to the blast that affected the bus of the host team. The match will now hold on Wednesday evening.

The first leg of the quarterfinals was postponed by a day after the Dortmund team bus was targeted in three blasts. Dortmund defender Marc Bartra needed surgery on injuries to his wrist and arm.

According to Egypt’s Ahram, many Monaco fans had planned to return home after Tuesday’s game and were left without accommodation for the night. But with hash tag (#) bedforawayfans, the supporters of Monaco were able to communicate on Twitter to arrange meet-ups and offer spare rooms or couches.

According to the report, both Dortmund and Monaco encouraged the action through retweets of the hashtag to bring it to a wider audience. Both followed up by tweeting pictures of Dortmund and Monaco fans socializing together.
