Manchester City have reportedly joined Premier League rivals, Arsenal, in the £40 million chase for Olympique Lyon striker, Alexandre Lacazette.
The Olympique Lyon striker will be sold this summer and City are keen to bring the France international to the Etihad at the expense of Arsenal who have a long-standing interest in the 25-year-old who has 30 goals to his name..
City boss Pep Guardiola wants to add Lacazette’s goal power to his squad as part of his rebuilding plans.
He admires his direct style and sees him as the player who would add the front-line zest he feels will be needed to push for the title next season.
But Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is also a big fan of Lacazette. Wenger has already given the green light for recruitment for next season to start.
Lacazette has two years left on his contract and has declined to extend his deal. That means Lyon will sell this summer – and City have him firmly on their radar.
