Koulibaly Set For Chelsea Move

Chelsea have been targeting Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly for some time now, coming close to landing the Senegalese centre-back last summer only to be denied by the club, and are looking to reignite their pursuit for the 25-year-old this summer transfer window.
The Blues had a stunning £58m offer for the Napoli man rebuffed last summer, and will probably have to climb somewhere as high as then to open negotiations with the stubborn Serie A side.
And according to the UK tabloid, Daily Express, Koulibaly’s agent Bruno Satin thinks the player is open to move at the end of the season, as Antonio Conte is still showing interest on signing the player.
“Chelsea were interested but then they signed David Luiz and you also have John Terry and Gary Cahill at the club so there is a lot of competition there.
So we will see what happens. A lot of the improvements that Koulibaly has made in his game has been down to the coaching of Maurizio Sarri.
Whatever happens in the future will depend on the president [Aurelio De Laurentiis] and whether or not he decides to evaluate any offers that may come in.”
Chelsea could use a new centre-back for next season with John Terry’s era at Stamford Bridge likely coming to its end once the season finishes, and Koulibaly has the potential to become a key player in Conte’s three-man defence..
