The talk of Pablo Zabaleta heading south to London when his Manchester City deal expires in June is getting stronger and stronger as recent reports from Italy and also from a top West Ham insider have it that talks are underway for him to join the Hammers this summer.
According to an exclusive report by TMW in Italy, the 32-year-old has reached an agreement to sign a three-year contract with West Ham at the end of his existing City deal.
While this may seem like another source reporting the same thing, it is noteworthy that TMW, a site known for its connections to agents around Europe, has had exclusive comments from Zaba’s agent in the past, so it is plausible that this exclusive of theirs is well sourced.
Zabaleta is one of three full-backs over the age of 30 who are out of contract in June, the others being fellow right-back Bacary Sagna and long-serving left-back Gael Clichy.
If Zaba’s Etihad departure is confirmed, he will go with nothing but the warmest wishes of Manchester City fans, who have idolised the Argentine hero since his arrival in 2008 for his hard work and endless dedication to the cause.
