As Enugu Rangers prepare for the CAF Confederation Cup play-off against Zambia’s Zesco United on April 9 in Enugu and the away tie in Ndola, Zambia on April 15, it is pertinent for them to take note of an advisory the Zambia Police Service.

According to information reaching the Sports Village Square, the Zambian Police Service on Wednesday issued a public warning on indecent dressing in public.

Signed by Police Spokesperson, Esther Mwata Katongo, it warned against skinny jeans, ripped jeans and sagging, a common mode of dressing by the youth and players.

According to the press release, arrest of violators will become effective on Saturday. The full text of the release reads:

“We as Zambia police are concerned with the dress code of some our women and men in public. What people do not realize is that indecency exposure offence which attracts a penalty fee K2, 500 or a 6 month jail sentence upon being convicted by the courts of law.

“Starting on the 1st April, 2017 the Zambian police will start arresting any members (sic) of the public found to be indecently dressed and exposing their body to the public.

“The following are some of the attire which falls (sic) in the indecent category. Leggings, skinny jeans, miniskirts (any skirt which does not go below the knees), mini dresses, tight-fitting dresses, ripped jeans, belly button exposing tops, lace attire and sagging trousers.

“We urge the members of public to familiarize themselves with what attire to wear so that they are not caught unaware.
