An end seems imminent to the long tenure of Arsene Wenger as lead technical man for Arsenal. Tabloids in the UK report that the board of Arsenal is already considering candidates for the role of sporting director for the club.
The Telegraph reports that the club has started exploring candidates for a potential sporting director role as part of a shake-up of the club’s off-field structure.
Another publication, the Mirror, also reported that with uncertainty surrounding Wenger’s future as his current deal expires this summer, it is widely expected that any replacement would be joined by a sporting director; such is Wenger’s influence in north London.
The Gunners boss knows each and every aspect of the club in detail and any new manager would struggle to assume all of his responsibilities.
