CAF Champions League: Rivers United Make Bold Win

Continental debutants, Rivers United, salvaged Nigeria’s pride on Sunday after a 3-0 defeat of 21st time continental attendee, Al-Merrikh of Sudan in the first leg of the first round of the CAF Champions League.
The score line gives a good cushion of possible scaling into the group stage of the competition. The return leg comes up in Omdurman, Sudan next weekend.
Ivorien import, Guy Kuymian launched Rivers United into victory path with his two first half goals. The first of the goals came in the 15th minute and he doubled it three minutes later.
Esosa Igbinosa sealed the win for Rivers United five minutes to regulation time.
