With four wins and two draws in their opening six home matches this season in the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL, Akwa United will be gunning for their fifth win of the season when they engaged Sunshine Stars of Akure  on Match Day 13 this Sunday in Uyo.

The Promise Keepers will be brimming with confidence going into the match having been undefeated at home this season. A win for Akwa United could see them move into the top six on the log if Lobi Stars and Niger Tornadoes fail to win their respective matches.

Coach Abdul Maikaba has a full strength squad to choose from for the match but he and the fans will greatly miss the services of midfielder Alhassan Ibrahim who is suspended after accumulating five yellow cards.

The midfielder who has scored five goals in twelve marches was booked in the games against Katsina United (away), Gombe United (away), Enyimba International (away) Nasarawa United (away) and El Kanemi Warriors (home).

With Alhassan suspended, fans will look up to Christian Pyagbara, Musa Newman, Ubong Friday, Moses Ebiye, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi and Cyril Olisema to get the goals.

The promise Keepers who are ranked 8th on the log will be hoping for their fans support as they go for all three points against Sunshine Stars who are 11th on the table with 15 points.

Last season, both Akwa United and Sunshine Stars managed two points apiece following draws over two legs in the league.
