As El-Merrikh will do in Sunday CAF Champions League match with Rivers United, Zamalek SC of Egypt also have Nigerian players in its fold as it faces Enugu Rangers in Cairo on Sunday.
At the moment there are three Nigerians in the fold of Zamalek. At least one of them will likely feature against Rangers.
The players are Stanley Ohawuchi, who is on loan from Wadi Delga, Maaroof Youssef and Peter Odo in the defence.
Of the trio, Maaroof Youssef, a striker, is the player to watch. In Zamalek, he listed as Nigerian.
But other sources linked him to Burkina Faso, even though he was born in Lagos, Nigeria on December 20, 1992.
The 24 year old is reportedly good with both feet. He featured in the 1-0 defeat of Enyimba last year in the Champions League.
He scored in the Champions League 1-1 draw with Petroject the previous season and also in the 2-1 defeat of South Africa’s Orlando Pirates.
Owing to the Egyptian Football Association rules that permit only three foreigners in a club, Peter Odo is not listed in the current squad as Zambia’s Emmanuel Mayuka is the listed third non-Egyptian player.
