Zamalek Gets Set For Rangers’ Challenge

Nigeria’s champions, Enugu Rangers are expected to arrive Cairo on Thursday, their opponents in the CAF Champions League, Zamalek of Egypt, have announced in their website.
According to information from club officials in Cairo, the first leg, first round match will hold on Sunday at 6pm local time at Ali Salam Stadium. Zamalek are currently third on the domestic league table after 20 weeks, even though the club still have an outstanding match.
Technical Director of the club, Ismail Yousef announced that Zamalek will not play any tune up match in preparation for Rangers. He said that “the coach staff will continue normal training.”
Zamalek, which had its domestic league match with Al Gaish scheduled for Tuesday postponed skipped training on Monday. Training is to resume on Tuesday.
The chairman of the club, Murtaza Mansour had a meeting with the technical crew of the club on Monday. According to technical director, Ismail Yousef, the meeting served as a big boost ahead of Sunday’s match with Enugu Rangers.
Meanwhile, the South African referees for the match are also due to arrive in Cairo on Thursday.
The referees are Zakali Swela, Sandela Delickens and Victor Helenguina.
