All is set for Lagos Corporate Cycling (LCC 2017)
The stage is set for the mega city of Lagos to host one of the biggest cycling competitions in Africa, Lagos Corporate Cycling (LCC) 2017. The event which is expected to further promote cycling as a major sporting activity in the country is designed to champion healthy competition among corporate organisation and encourage healthy lifestyle among corporate executives and Nigerians in general.
In a statement by Mr Olabamiji Adeleye, Chief Executive Office, Addefort Limited, the organizer, LCC 2017 will include; the Elite Race, Professional Challenge, Corporate Contest and the children/ youth race.
According to him, “Corporate organisations through their participations are to encourage the general public to engage in cycling in their various communities for healthy living. Corporate representatives will compete for medals, it will provide a platform for talent discovery and grooming (Children and Youth Participation), and professionals will compete for various category of prizes.”
Mr Adeleye explained that Lagos Corporate Cycling is part of the Cycling Nigeria Project from the Addefort Group, an initiative aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle and cycling in the country. He noted that the organization is working with key stakeholders in the sector to stage a cycling competition that will meet international standard and further enhance its development in the country.
Activities for the month long project scheduled to run between May 13 and June 10, 2017 will include brand exhibition, coaching and talent discovery/ development programme.
